Up at the top of the Olympic Hill a hushed silence falls as the racers focus on the run ahead, adrenaline pumping through their veins, bodies coiled to attack out of the start gate. After what seems like an eternity a voice calls out: “BLUE READY, RED READY,GO!” The race is underway and everybody knows: only one of the world’s top 16 slalom skiers will stand on top of the podium tonight. The event, the location and the floodlit atmosphere make the Audi FIS Ski World Cup parallel slalom in Munich’s Olympic Park a spectacular sporting occasion where the world’s best battle it out for valuable points in the World Cup slalom standings.

Motivation doesn’t come any bigger and better than this – not least for this year’s winner, Felix Neureuther, who just edged out Austria’s Marcel Hirscher in a thrilling finale. The slalom event in the heart of Munich is also a special occasion for local favourites such as Maria Höfl-Riesch, Viktoria Rebensburg and Fritz Dopfer as well as international ski stars including André Myhrer (Sweden), Alexis Pinturault (France), Ivica Kostelic (Croatia),Veronika Velez Zuzulova (Slovakia), Tina Maze (Slovenia) and Michaela Kirchgasser (Austria).

Pure ski racing excitement down to the last millisecond!
