MUNICH (MunichNOW News) -- Starting at the end of last week, the MAC Forum has once again been transformed into an enchanted winter wonderland.
Between the two terminals more than 40 market stalls will await international travelers and visitors from the surrounding area with gift ideas and seasonal foods and drinks.
This year's ice skating and curling rink is even bigger, and once again a strong line-up of bands and entertainers will take the stage. There are also a few surprises and exchanges in store for passengers and visitors. They include a large and small ice slide in the Airbräu beer garden, and entertaining movies every Monday with highlights from the history of cinema.
The Winter Market will end this year on December 28, and will be open daily from 11.00 a.m. until 9.00 p.m., except on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), when the stands will close at 5.00 p.m.
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
The program at this year's Winter Market features exciting new activities and events.
On Mondays it's movie time at 6.30 p.m., with movie classics screened for film fans on the MetaTwist Tower.
On Tuesdays, it's all about the kids, with activities offered in Kinderland from 2–5 p.m., including treasure hunts, face painting, and arts and crafts workshops (registration at Kinderland required).
The Thursday activities start with the family-friendly Winter Olympics, starting at 4.00 p.m., featuring a sliding contest on the ice slide and human bowling. Then, at 6.00 p.m., an after-work ice disco will start on the skating rink, with the DJs from the radio station Rock Antenne setting the tone.
From Friday to Sunday, skaters can enjoy live musical acts on the stage, with something for every taste, from rock to swing to jazz.
And naturally it wouldn't be a Winter Market without wreath workshops and the traditional visits from St. Nicholas and the Christ Child.
