nnc tv guide dancing

Strictly Come Dancing – BBC One, 18:35

The competition is entering the seventh weekend and as a result, the pressure for the pro-celebrity couple remains as high as ever. Ten duos are remaining. They will have the opportunity to demonstrate whether a week of rigorous training has improved their footwork on the dancefloor. Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell will assess their performance. Every couple will be hoping to get a high score which would place them in a better position in order to avoid the dreaded elimination dance-off after the public vote.

The X Factor Live – ITV, 20:20

UK TV Guide presents the live finals that continue on ITV 1 with Dermot O’Leary overseeing the proceedings. Two more categories are performing. The act that gets the fewest votes will leave at the end of the show before the announcement of the public’s favourite. The favourite will compete in a stunning sing-off with Sunday’s night champion in order to obtain a special prize. The winner of this sing-off will be decided by the public. Judges Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell (hopefully, if he is back after his absence for medical reasons) will as always give their insightful comments on the performances.

bbc guide gunpowder

Gunpowder – BBC One, 21:10

Last week, Catesby risked his life for the cause. On tv listings tonight, in the last episode of Gunpowder, November 4th arrives and Catesby and his co-conspirators load the tunnels beneath the Parliament with barrels of gunpowder. Father Garnet is under pressure to break his seal of confession and thus reveal the plot to the authorities. Lord Cecil may have another way to end Catesby’s mission. The historical drama, starring Kit Harington, Liv Tyler, Mark Gatiss and Peter Mullan will end this Saturday and it has certainly given us a lot of drama.

Father of the Bride – ITV, 15:55

George Banks (Steve Martin) finds himself reluctant to let go when his oldest daughter’s wedding is approaching. Father of the Bride is a warm and funny movie coupled with highly emotional moments. The movie is hence recommended for relaxing or family time. The movie is starring Diane Keaton as Nina Banks (Wife and Mother) and Kimberly William-Paisley as Annie Banks. As always, Steve Marting provides joy for one’s soul as the laughter never ends. Highly recommended.

UK TV Guide legend

Legend – Film4, 19:10

Legend is an intense biography, crime and drama movie. Two identical twin gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray terrorize London during the 1960s. Tom Hardy is starring as both Ronald and Reginald and he has done an amazing job. Reginald and Ronald are complete opposites. Reginald wants to semi-legalize the business after his marriage with Frances (Emily Browning) and Ronnie was a psychopath with no self-control. Furthermore, Ronnie was an open homosexual which was quite rare for London in the 1960s. Ronnie goes into a trail of bloody violence against rival gangs with no regards to the consequences.

Sir David Attenborough returns to the ocean waters in order to show an array of weird and wonderful creatures. The first season of these mini=series will feature 7 episodes. The first one is beginning with a tropical coral reef which has medicinal properties for dolphins. In Japan, a shipwreck becomes home to the Asian sheepshead wrasse that can change gender. We are taken to the polar north where walruses struggle to find ice floes for their pups to rest on as climate change took its toll. In the second episode, we will meet the creatures that live in volcanic hot spots on the ocean bed. These are areas where temperatures are quite hot and it is believed that these areas hold many secrets behind all life on Earth.

UK TV Guide films on tv tonight film 4 - Anna Karenina

Anna Karenina – Film4, 13:00

In late-19th-century Russian high society, St. Petersburg aristocrat Anna Karenina enters into a life-changing affair with the dashing Count Alexei Vronsky. The adaptation of the famous novel by Tolstoy is starring Keira Knightley and Jude Law. The movie won an Oscar and 31 other rewards. If you haven’t read the book, I advise you to do so, especially since the movie can never truly capture the emotion of a book. However, this goes both ways as the director, Joe Wright, provided something of his own through this adaptation. Anna Karenina is a masterpiece and that is why it deserved a place on our tv movies list.
