About “Lend Me A Tenor”:
Cleveland, Ohio, 1934: The big day has finally arrived! The Italian star tenor Tito Merelli is performing Otello at Cleveland Opera. But when Tito is wrongly declared dead after too much vino, the grand opening quickly turns into a hilarious series of amusing misunderstandings and mishaps. Theatre employee Max, who is dreaming of his own career as a tenor, secretly puts on Tito’s costume to save the day. But all of sudden two Otellos are running around Cleveland!
“Lend Me A Tenor” premiered in 1986 in London’s West End and received four Tony Awards, including the award for Best Play. The comedy has been translated into 16 languages and performed in 25 countries.About Ken Ludwig:
Playwright Ken Ludwig has earned two Olivier awards. His work has been performed in more than 30 countries in over 20 languages. He has authored 25 plays and musicals, including six Broadway productions and seven in London’s West End.
