Munich (dpa) – Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger returned to team training from an ankle injury on Tuesday but it remains open whether he will be able to feature in the next Bundesliga match.
Munich said that Schweinsteiger joined team-mates for half an hour before continuing with individual training. Schweinsteiger damaged his ankle two weeks ago in a league match in Freiburg. He had to sit the Bayern’s European Super Cup win against Chelsea and two German World Cup qualifiers.
The treble winners Munich next play on Saturday against Hanover. They rank second behind Borussia Dortmund after four games.
